Triple Boot (Vista SP1, Max OSX 10.5.5, Ubuntu 8.10)

22 Dec

I just successfully triple booted my HP Pavillion (dv6149us). :-) At 1st it was just Vista, then i installed iDeneb 10.5.5 (Hackintosh) and just yesterday, I installed Ubuntu 8.10 (yataaa!!!)… after 4 times of partition and 3 times installation and resintallation of ubuntu… it finally worked… but my dafault bootloader now is GRUB… i kinda liked Darwin (from OSX86) better… but hey, what works well is good enough, than “not” working at all…

Anyway, just this morning, I enabled Compiz (Beryl)… on my Linux boot… and i was surprised how easily I installed it… unlike from the previous versions… and unlike my MacOSX86… most of the drivers in my laptop, worked perfect (esp the most important ones)…

Maybe sometime, I’ll try and write a tutorial on how i did the installation(s).

New Macbooks (drooool :-P~)

15 Oct

Apple just released some new macbooks. And improved its physical design significantly. Its a good thing I’m still saving for it, or else I might have bought the black plastic one already. Now I just have to save a bit more, because the new macbooks introductory price is US$1299.

1956 HDD

Good history piece!

What’s being loaded into this plane?

1956-HDD

Its a hard disk in 1956…. WTF? :-O

Hard Disk Drive with 5MB storage in 1956.

In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton and stored 5MB of data.

Start appreciating your 1GB flash drives!
