Installed iOS 4.0 on my iPhone 3G (not 3GS, not 4)

22 Jun

Horray for multitasking, folders, digital camera zoom, messages searching and wallpapers ^_^ (and tons more i can’t wait to explore)

the dev-team really were quick to draw this time around. just after a few hours when iOS was released, we already have redsnow 9.5 which can “hacktivate” (or jailbreak) any iPhone3G or iPod Touch 2G, unfortunately no unlock yet folks. But I have a feeling we will “soon” have this (i think)

Download links for redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3 below:

WARNING: For now, the redsn0w beta release supports only the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G at today’s 4.0. It’s still a beta, so you’ll need to let Cydia reorganize, reload, and update after using redsn0w.

Its fairly easy to use. I wont bother putting a tutorial in. If you know how to use a computer (Windows/OSX) you can use this.

View my Blog on an iPhone/iPod Touch

23 Jul

Mobile Safari ScreenshotI’ve just installed a new Plug-in for my wordpress. If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch. Trying viewing my webpage. It looks great. optimized for the apple web devices (not to mention it uses ajax for faster interaction and more eye candy effects). I still haven’t tried them yet using windows mobile internet explorer or nokia symbian smartphone browsers. maybe some of you who have these Phones/PDAs can send me some screenshot (it would be very helpful).

Upgrading Firmware iPhone 3.0 (for 2nd Gen)

18 Jun

Im now downloading the upgrade for my iPhone 3G (not S, yet). I dont mind my phone to be “un-jailbreaked” again. I just want to try MMS and some other features the 3.0 offers.

But based from the DevTeam, the old quickpwn/pwnage will still work. I just want to be on the safe side and wait for any bugs to be sorted out.

20 May

There are rumors circulating around that the next gen iPhone will be out this year (July 17th). Hmmmm, too bad for people like me who are still locked on my 2nd Gen iPhone for 1 and 1/2 year (Globe Telecom). I guess, next time i’ll get the “plan-free” package (if my wife lets me)…. or i buy one and just hide it from her.

  • $199 and $299 price points to be maintained
  • 3.2-megapixel camera (up from the current 2-megapixel camera)
  • Video-recording and editing capabilities
  • Ability to send a picture & video via MMS
  • Discontinuation of the metal band surrounding the edge of the device
  • OLED screen
  • 1.5 times the battery life of the current models
  • Double the RAM and processing power
  • Built-in FM transmitter
  • Apple logo on back will glow
  • Rubber-tread backing
  • Sleeker design
  • Built-in compass
  • The camera, GPS, compass and Google map combined will identify photo and inform about photo locations
  • Turn-by-turn directions

iPhone 3.0 (Copy and Paste)

16 Mar

As per a very reliable web celebrity, Kevin Rose, via Diggnation Convention (i think)… the upcoming iPhone firmware will have the LOOOOOOOOONG awaited copy and paste feature… and to add all the goodies Palm Pre have, will be also included to this 3.0 firmware… Unfortunately as you will hear on the video… it still doesn’t have Video Recording… and i believe still no MMS…. im guessing those 2 features might be considered by apple on its 3rd Gen. ^_^

Update (2009-03-18): Its alot better that I expected. Click here for the CNET review

New iPod Shuffle

12 Mar

Apple just release a sleek upgrade for their iPod shuffle.

My opinion:

  • it has a better look (looks even better when its beside my MacBook)
  • I like the way you can organize your songs by totally ignoring the iPod itself. (since you have all the buttons you need near your face/head). Which is why you can only use Apple Earphones to use this.
  • very handy when you’re out jogging or working out.
  • VoiceOver technology tells you track information over your headphone
