MG Blue Frame Astray 2nd Revise

This was my birthday gift from my wife. ^_^ (i managed to tricker into buying me one. hehehe). Just kidding, anyway, of all the gunpla I have, she liked my master grade red frame so much, i manage to convince her that the master grade blue frame will be a perfect display shelf partner to him. And the rest is history. She didn’t know what to get me for my birthday, so I used the inception method (yes, the movie) and lead her to believe that this is what “she wants” to give me, but we all know that, it is what “I want” her to give me.

Head is very detailed. Unlike the red frame, his V-fin is inside his head armor (or helmet). which means it wont fall of very easily (like the red frame does). I almost resembles the helmet of a dirt bike rider.

Arms are exactly like the MG red frame (its just blue instead of red). that means it comes with all is awesome articulation, details and glory (if there are any).

Legs are also the same. With a few exemptions. like a retracting blades on the feet and daggers on its hips. Other that that (and the blue color), its molded the same way.

He is the blue frame side by side with the red rame. even thought its obvious that they are suppose to be the same. I still don’t feel like they are. small details make a big difference. tactical arms, shoulder armor, helmet, etc.

HG 1/144 Gundam Throne Trinity (Eins, Zwei and Drei)

This is my 1st 1/144 scale gundams. I normally prefer 1/100 NG (no grades) over the 1/144 HG (high grades). I seems to me that Bandai have no plans of making a bigger scale for these 3 amazing kits.

They as basically very easy to build. especially if you build them all at the same day. Except for the head, color scheme and weapons, these three basically have the same mold. Even so, they are still fun to build.

Since my Eins is a resin kit. i experienced some problems with it. loose joints and pegs that dont fit. Fortunately its something that a little super glue can fix. I may consider getting a bandai one for this model.

As for Zwei. Even though its a bandai brand, I still have some small complains for this kit. Whenever you want to make a pose of him holding his sword, you have to disassemble his hand 1st, so that you can have him pose like that i did below.

As for the drei. i dont have complain (so far). i like the color scheme, like its cool poses and i like how its head look alot like from that alien movie. But im pretty sure this would even look better if i painted some details into it. Hopefully on my next post, (if i find the time to work on them).

Now i guess your asking why would i buy a resin kit of eins, when i have the other 2 (zwei and drei) from bandai. Its simple reason actually, I couldn’t find any Eins, on my local stores. Plus, I guess i also want to try experiencing on how to make HG 1/144 TT Hongli brands. And for the record, the bandai ones are far far superior especially on how accurately one mold fits into the other. For the TTHongli brand, 50% of the time, I have to either add super glue to thicken a part or shave of some parts with my hobby knife to make a part fit to one another.
